Colors picked from the screen

For colors you pick from the screen - such as palette entries, or colors for the Color subcolumn - their color space is that of the monitor on which you choose the color. The color profile file for the monitor is found via \Program Files\CAS\Animo\data\host_profiles.dat under NT, or via /usr/animo/data/host_profiles.dat under IRIX. This file contains a list of hosts, followed by the path to the profile file for the monitor:

This will make applications run faster, but colors will appear different to normal. This difference will not be extreme, so reds won't suddenly turn green, but the shade of a color can change.
Generally, the last line in the file should use * as the host name, followed by the profile file for the most common type of monitor.

You can also set the gamma value for the monitor, with a line such as GAMMA 1.2. This line is used for all subsequent monitors in the file, until the next line setting a gamma value.
